The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board on Wednesday voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Harrison Keller to serve as the next commissioner of higher education. Keller will assume his new post on Oct. 1, 2019. He will be the sixth individual to hold the position, succeeding long-time commissioner Raymund Paredes, who announced his retirement in January after serving for 15 years.
