Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Shelly Botkin to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) for a term set to expire on September 1, 2019. PUC regulates the state’s electric, telecommunication, and water and sewer utilities, implements respective legislation, and offers customer assistance in resolving consumer complaints.
Shelly Botkin of Austin is director of Corporate Communications and Government Relations for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, where she has served since 2010. Botkin received a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis.
