Former Grimes County Judge Ben Leman won the runoff election to fill the seat for Texas House District 13 and was sworn in at the end of May. Leman will serve out the remainder of former Rep. Leighton Schubert’s uncompleted term through Dec. 31, 2018, and face Democratic candidate Cecil R. Webster in the November general election for the two-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2019, through Dec. 31, 2020.
