This report covers the submitted LAR document and attempts to summarize the priorities and changes in the aforementioned Legislative Appropriations Request.

Background Spotlight

OAG is pivoting $24.8 million of their baseline request away from the Victims Assistance Strategy towards the Crime Victims Compensation strategy to account for declines in cash balance in Fund 0469, and due to the statutory prioritization of payments to individual victims rather than the Victims Assistance Program (VAP).

Due to low cash balance in Fund 0469, OAG is requesting an exceptional item to restore the base funding of VAP, which is funded by Fund 0469. The two other exceptional item requests are for the completion of the CAPPS Financials Transitional Phase II system, and for Legal Case Legacy Modernization.
