Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) have announced a $25 million federal grant award to help eliminate bridge strikes at the I-20 and Cotton Flat Road interchange near Midland. Funding for the project comes through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Transportation grants. This funding is in addition to TxDOT’s 2019 approval of more than $600 million for transportation projects in the Permian Basin.
