Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced the appointments of these Senators to the Windstorm Insurance Legislative Funding and Funding Structure Oversight Board today:
- Sen. Kelly Hancock, R-North Richland Hills – Co-Chairman
- Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, D-McAllen
- Sen. Larry Taylor, R-Friendswood
- Sen. Charles Schwertner, R-Georgetown
The Windstorm Insurance Legislative Funding and Funding Structure Oversight Board will gather information regarding the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association’s (TWIA) current funding and funding structure. They will also review how the catastrophic risk pools of other states operate as well as other information the board considers necessary to prepare a report to the legislature. The Windstorm Insurance Legislative Funding and Funding Structure Oversight Board was created in the 2019 Legislative Session.
