The State Board of Education (SBOE) on January 30 held a Learning Roundtable discussion open to the public with over 500 people registered to attend. The discussions focused on the two main components of the SBOE strategic plan regarding equity & access and student & family engagement. Attendees also joined TASA Midwinter Conferees to hear Mike Morath’s comments on Public Education in Texas. Morath began his statements saying the public education system in Texas is outstanding and then began to outline where he saw great outcomes occurring in the classroom. He also spoke about his visit to education campuses throughout Texas and he brought a few educators he met during these visits to speak to the audience.
