The Comptroller’s Office has published a special edition of Fiscal Notes focusing on the economic impact of Winter Storm Uri. This issue covers causes of outages during Winter Storm Uri, impact on the health and welfare of Texans, supply chain disruptions, agricultural losses, and resulting economic impact. Fiscal Notes states that early estimates of the total impact range from $80 billion to $130 billion but due to the complexity of the Texas grid the full impact is difficult to discern.
