Upcoming Deadlines/Dates of Interest:

  • Friday, May 21 (130th day)– last day for House to consider local HBs on 2nd and 3rd reading and the first day the Senate can consider bills and resolutions the first day they are posted on the Notice of Intent
  • Saturday, May 22 (131st day) – last day for House committees to report SBs/SJRs
  • Tuesday, May 25 (134th day) – last day for House to consider 2nd reading SBs/SJRs
  • Wednesday, May 26 (135th day) – last day for House to consider local and consent SBs on 2nd and 3rd reading and ALL 3rd reading SBs/SJRs on supplemental calendar
  • Wednesday, May 26 (135th day) – last day for Senate to consider ALL bills & JRs on 2nd and 3rd reading

The House pdf posted Sunday Calendar has 9 pages. The Texas Tribune has published an article covering the end-of-session tensions between the Texas House and Senate as the House adjourned on Thursday and not reconvening until Sunday.

Additionally, the Texas Tribune reported on a statement Gov. Greg Abbott sent to them confirming Abbott told lawmakers yesterday evening that he will call a special session for lawmakers to allocate nearly $16 billion in federal funds for COVID-19 recovery.
