HillCo will continue to monitor and update this list as final votes are counted.
Below are the unofficial results with 100% of counties and 88% of polling locations reporting (unless it has an asterisk next to it). To see the latest unofficial results, see the Texas Secretary of State website.
Federal & Statewide
Republican incumbents retained their statewide offices. The six Republican Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeals incumbents retained their seats as well.
State Board of Education
In the State Board of Education races, all seats were won by the incumbent or the projected party. For the open seats that were not uncontested:
- In SD 1, with 49.6% of the votes counted, Melissa N. Ortega (D) currently has 245,089 votes (55.7%) over Michael “Travis” Stevens with 194,594 votes (44.3%).
- In SD 2, with 93% of the votes counted, LJ Francis (R) currently has 194,792 (50.2%) votes over Victor Perez with 193,127 votes (49.8%).
- In SD 7, with 29.2% of the votes counted, Julie Pickren (R) currently has 343,494 (60.7%) votes over Daniel Hochman (D) with 210,384 (37.2%).

Texas Senate
Coming into the race, it was already known that Sen. Beverly Powell would not run for re-election for SD 10. Republicans picked up a Senate seat there as Phil King was uncontested for SD 10.
There are 7 senate seats still not officially called by media leaving the current tally at 17 Republicans (7 seats were uncontested) and 7 Democrats (3 uncontested) but if the trend holds all offices will be won by their incumbent or the projected party which means Republicans will hold a 19-12 advantage in January.
In open seat SD 27, Morgan LaMantia (D) defeated Adam Hinojosa (R), 50.2%-49.8%, in a race that could go to a recount. A total of 569 votes separated the two candidates with an estimated 95.4% of the votes counted.
Texas House
Open seat wins largely followed voter trends after district lines were redrawn earlier this year. While 29 House seats are yet to be called by media, if vote count trends hold Republicans will have 86 members to Democrats’ 64 next session. Party shifts occurred in the following five open seats, with 3 Republican pickups and 2 Democratic pickups.
