There are currently 121 comments for Public Utility Commission (PUC) filing #54335: REVIEW OF MARKET REFORM ASSESSMENT PRODUCED BY ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS, INC. (E3). Approximately 70 of those comments were filed in the last 24 hours. The proposed changes underway are significant and evidenced by the number of comments, capturing significant attention.

PUC Chairman Lake has indicated to both House and Senate committees that he intends to ask for a vote on the PCM on January 12th. What that vote means is unclear, but he referred to it as a “resolution.” Implementation will require at least two years and perhaps 3-5 years for a rollout. The cost will be more than a footnote – building sophisticated systems that are bulletproof and redundant require a substantial investment. The nodal rollout 15 years ago cost $600M.
