The Texas Commission on Virtual Education was created during the 87th Session by HB 3643 to develop recommendations on the delivery of virtual education in the public school system and state funding for virtual education under the Foundation School Program. The Commission is made up of 13 members appointed in groups of 4 by the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House, and one member appointed by the State Board of Education Chair.
