The Texas School Alliance, which is comprised of over 44 districts throughout the state, held a luncheon during the TASA/TASB Convention this weekend. Executive Director Dr. Curtis Culwell provided opening remarks and Dr. Michael Hinojosa, President of TSA and Superintendent of Dallas ISD, reminded the audience to “Stand Up, Speak Up, Lead Up.” Communities are polarized, acknowledged Hinojosa, but in addition to standing up and speaking up, he stressed the importance of leaders who can learn with creative tension and are problem solvers.
