On August 6, 2024, and August 8, 2024, TCEQ will host two identical online stakeholder meetings for the FCAA Section 185 Penalty Fee stakeholder group. These stakeholder meetings will give members of the open participation Section 185 Stakeholder Group a chance to provide input on rule development prior to rule proposal for the FCAA Section 185 fee rule for the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Houston-Galveston-Brazoria (HGB) severe nonattainment areas under the 2008 eight-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). The 10-county DFW and eight-county HGB severe ozone nonattainment areas will be subject to the FCAA Section 185 fee if the areas fail to attain the 2008 eight-hour ozone NAAQS by July 20, 2027.
