The Texas Education Agency has published the following letters to school administrators:

Annual Physical Fitness Assessment Reporting (August 29, 2024) – Notice of the requirement to assess fitness level for all students grades 3-12 and submit the results to TEA each school year; for the 2024-2025 school year, school systems may submit their data through one of three options, FitnessGram, the Physical Fitness Assessment Initiative (PFAI) application, or another vendor collection tool

Final Maximum Compressed Tax Rates (MCR) and Adoption of Tax Rate for Tax Year 2024 (August 29, 2024) – This letter details final maximum compressed tax rates (MCR) for school systems maintenance and operations (M&O) tax rates for the 2024 tax year (2024-2025 school year); the final MCR values for each district are available on the State Funding webpage under District & Charter Planning Tools.

Information for School Systems with Campuses Identified for School Improvement Interventions under Federal Accountability (August 29, 2024) – Providing information regarding campuses identified for support under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and to outline agency resources to support the improvement of school system and campus performance; TEA is proceeding with federal identification, interventions and grant-funding processes, per an agreement reached in the recently filed accountability litigation
