The Legislative Reference Library has published a comparison of bill filing statistics between the 88th and 87th Sessions at the 45-day mark. Per the LRL data, 447 more House and 395 more Senate bills and joint resolutions have been filed this session compared to a similar period last year, 842 overall.
As of today, Texas Legislature Online shows 5,736 House and Senate bills and joint resolutions filed compared to 4,858 during a similar period last session. The bill filing deadline for the 88th Session is March 10, 2023.
