The Supreme Court of Texas has issued an order transferring certain recent appellate cases to the newly created Fifteenth Court of Appeals. Appellate cases within the Fifteenth Court’s exclusive appellate jurisdiction and filed on or after September 1, 2023, will be transferred to the Fifteenth Court of Appeals District on September 1, 2024. The Fifteenth Court of Appeals was created by SB 1045 (88R) and has exclusive jurisdiction over cases where the state, a state agency, or a state official is a party.
