Our internal sources have notified us that District Judge Alan Albright, Western District of Texas, Austin, enjoined the state from implementing any aspect of HB 900 — a new state law that was to go into effect Sept. 1 that limits library content deemed sexually relevant and puts the onus on book vendors to rate the materials sold to schools. The state notified the court that it plans to appeal the injunction. A written order is forthcoming.
