HHSC’s Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Advisory Council (PCIAC) has published it’s recommendations report (PDF) to the 89th Legislature. Recommendations include establishing supportive palliative care (SPC) standards under the Home and Community Support Services Agencies license, licensing standards and reimbursement for Child Life Specialists, requesting an SPC Medicaid benefit and advance planning reimbursement, expanding access to medical cannabis and psychedelic research, and paid FMLA for patients and caregivers facing a serous health condition.
