Both the House and Senate have filed their base budget bills for the 89th Session. The base budget bills are a starting point in the discussions as both chambers begin to work on the state’s funding proprieties for the next two years.
Representative Greg Bonnen has filed House Bill 1, the initial House version of the General Appropriations Act which ultimately sets appropriations for the 2026-2027 biennium; a PDF of the filed bill can be found here.
Senator Joan Huffman has filed Senate Bill 1 and also issued a press release with highlights from the bill (PDF).
