On June 27, Governor Greg Abbott released a statement in support of EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt’s announcement that he will propose to withdraw the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule. Abbott alleged that the WOTUS rule “sought to take away rights from Texas landowners by regulating ponds and ditches on private property.” Governor Abbott’s full statement is available here.

Earlier in June, Attorney General Ken Paxton had joined a 20-state collation letter in opposition of potential overreach in the WOTUS rule.
