The Texas Department of Insurance has announced a meeting of the Advisory Committee for the Standard Request Form for Prior Authorization of Prescription Drug Benefits at 1:00 p.m., Central time, on September 12, 2014, in Room 2-225 of the William P. Hobby Jr. State Office Building, 333 Guadalupe, Austin, Texas.
Senate Bill 644, 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, provides that the committee will advise the commissioner on the technical, operational, and practical aspects of developing a standard form for requesting prior authorization of prescription drug benefits including the length of the form, the time and method for acknowledging receipt of the form, and penalties for noncompliance.
