Deadlines (122nd day)
The House faces a midnight deadline tonight to pass all non-local and consent bills on second reading. Missing that deadline means bills may be considered in large part dead, however; the language of the bill can still hitch a ride on another bill as an amendment. As deadlines loom, HillCo will continue to watch the progress of legislation and report on crucial updates.

As of time of publication, there was still no public agreement on tax relief between the House and the Senate. Several legislative sources have said sides are getting closer to an agreement.

Rep. Stephenson was taken this morning to the hospital in Austin, but we have received word he has been released and is now heading back to the capitol.

Statistics
