Today the House and Senate both gaveled in for the first day of the first called Special Session.
- The Senate referred SB 20 (V. Taylor) & SB 60 (V. Taylor), sunset legislation, to committee and then recessed while Senate Business and Commerce met and voted out both bills. The Senate did reconvene shortly after noon but did not take up any further business before adjourning until Wednesday, July 19 at 1:00 p.m.
- It was announced in the Senate that the following members were appointed to the Senate Select Committee on Government Reform: Sens.: Bettencourt (Chair), Creighton, Hancock, Lucio, Perry, Uresti, and Van Taylor.
- The House met and referred HB 1 (Gonzales), the House companion for sunset legislation, to State Affairs. The House adjourned until Wednesday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m.
- House State Affairs will meet on Wednesday, July 19 at 1:00 p.m., or upon adjournment, to take up HB 1.
