Today Governor Greg Abbott has released his Proclamation for the first called 85th Special Session for Sunset Legislation. Additionally, he issued a separate supplemental call covering the remaining 19 items he released during his initial press conference as well as legislation adjusting the scheduling of Sunset Commission review of state agencies. According to the notice at the top of the press release of the supplemental call, it is an “unsigned working draft. It is being released for informational and discussion purposes only. It is subject to change. It has no legal effect.”

The Special Session Sunset Proclamation states that as soon as the Senate passes all bills necessary to extend the existence of five state agencies, including the Texas Medical Board, then the Governor intends to add those items listed on the supplemental call.

Bills can now be filed for the first called 85th Special Session.
