Texas Health and Human Services System Transformation. Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will conduct a public hearing, in accordance with Texas Government Code Section 531.0204(c)(1), to receive comment on the proposed Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) System Transformation.  Additional public hearings are scheduled in various locations around the state. STAR Kids Client Information Session. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission will hold information sessions at locations around the state in January and February of 2016 related to the transition of various Medicaid services to the STAR Kids program. Beginning November 1, 2016, the STAR Kids managed care program will provide Medicaid benefits to individuals with disabilities under the age of 21 who receive Supplemental Security Income Medicaid or are enrolled in home and community-based services waiver programs, including: Medically Dependent Children Program, Home and Community-based Services, Community Living Assistance and Support Services, Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities, Texas Home Living, Youth Empowerment Services. Because this new program may change the way providers and other services are accessed, HHSC invites those who may be impacted by this new program to join us for an information session to learn more. Information sessions will provide details on STAR Kids, as well as provide the opportunity for attendees to ask questions pertaining to this new managed care program. Separate sessions will be held for families and providers.
