The Health and Human Services Legislative Oversight Committee met on April 24 to hear invited testimony concerning the status of and timeline for the ongoing transformation of the Texas Health and Human Services system. Health and Human Services Executive Commissioner Charles Smith presented before the committee about the transformation which is scheduled to be effective September 1, 2017. An update over the Summer of 2017 will detail changes made to the plan since 2016, including new directives from the 85th Legislature.
