- The Senate did not take up calendar items on Monday – they have posted their February 7 “notice of intent” calendar which includes SB 14 (Taylor) relating to ethics reform and SB 4 (Perry) relating to immigration.
- It has been reported that it is expected the Senate will take SB 4 on Tuesday, February 7.
- As the Senate Calendars are now being populated with bills, it is important to note that the Senate Intent Calendar list bills which could be considered, however; no bill or resolution will be considered on its first day on the Intent Calendar (without a vote for suspension of the rules). Bills do not have to be brought up in the same order as they are listed on the calendar and routinely will consider only a portion of the bills listed on the Intent Calendar. Regular Order of Business Calendar is a list of all bills and resolutions that have been reported from a senate committee in the order which they were reported.
- Senate Finance canceled its February 7 hearing on Article IV-Judiciary and instead is scheduled to hear part of Article IV & all of Article V – Public Safety and Criminal Justice on Wednesday, February 8.
