Tonight, the House gave preliminary approval to HB 21, the school finance bill proposed by the House. Bill author Dan Huberty said while laying out the bill that it will ultimately put $1.8 billion back into the school finance system which includes $200 million for hardship grants for the upcoming biennium. 15 total floor amendments were adopted before the committee substitute of HB 21 was passed to third reading (134-16).
