State Auditor John Keel said he is resigning, saying it was time to move on from the job he has held for 11 years. “It has been my goal to provide leadership to the State Auditor’s Office based on integrity, judgment and independence; I may have accomplished that,” Keel wrote in his resignation letter to Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and House Speaker Joe Straus. The resignation is effective Jan. 4, 2016.
