It has been reported by insiders that Rep. Tim Kleinschmidt (R-Lexington) will resign his House seat to become the General Counsel of the Texas Agriculture Commission.
Reports indicate that Kleinschmidt will not resign until January when his current term expires. Kleinschmidt's resignation will require the Governor to call a Special Election to fill the seat for House District 17.
