The House is staring down a midnight deadline tonight to pass all House non-local and consent bills on second reading – 250 of these bills are on today's House Supplemental Calendar. During the 84th Session over 200 HBs remained on the calendar when the deadline arrived. Missing the midnight deadline means those house bills not taken up may be considered in large part dead, however; the language of the bill can still hitch a ride on another bill as an amendment. As deadlines loom, HillCo will continue to watch the progress of legislation and provide key updates.
