Today was the first day lawmakers could file bills for the 84th Texas legislative session.

In the first day of filing, lawmakers filed 341 bills and 30 resolutions for a total 371 bills and resolutions*.

Last session there 257 bills and resolutions filed by lawmakers on the first day of filing, but that filing frenzy slowed down as 56 additional bills and resolutions were filed for rest of that week.
