On January 27, the Senate released their introduced budget which would spend $101.5 billion in General Revenue and includes $4 billion in tax relief. The Senate Finance Committee will work from this initial proposal as it prepares a budget for the full Senate to consider later in the session.

The House's introduced two-year state budget plan released January 15 would appropriate $98.8 billion in General Revenue.

The introduced budget bills of the House and Senate will be a starting point for discussions that will undergo multiple revisions in committee and in their respective chambers before being sent to the Governor at the end of the 84th Session.
