Senate Bill 20 (2015) requires the Comptroller of Public Accounts to conduct a study that examines “the feasibility and practicality of consolidating state purchasing functions into few state agencies or one state agency.” Vendors are half of the state purchasing function, so the Comptroller’s office believes it is important that vendors’ impressions and experiences of doing business with state agencies is considered in this process – click on the following link to fill out a survey and add your input. The study will examine expenditures by state agencies (excluding higher education) operating and contracting with vendors statewide, not simply through centralized procurement and purchasing staff in Austin.
