On December 11, 2013, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) approved proposal of the Emissions Inventory (EI) SIP revision to satisfy the Federal Clean Air Act, §172(c)(3) and §182(a)(1) EI reporting requirements for the Houston-Galveston-Brazoria (HGB) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) nonattainment areas under the 2008 eight-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). States are required to submit a comprehensive, accurate, and current inventory of emissions of ozone precursors (nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds) from all sources in nonattainment areas. This SIP revision is due to the EPA no later than July 20, 2014.

The public comment period for the proposed SIP revision will close on January 27, 2014. For more details on the public hearings and other updates, please visit: http://www.tceq.texas.gov/airquality/sip/criteria-pollutants/sip-ozone
