On April 27 the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) approved the following proposal:
The proposed Collin County Redesignation Request and Maintenance Plan State Implementation Plan (SIP) Revision for the 2008 Lead National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). The public comment period opens on April 29, 2016 and closes on June 3, 2016.  A public hearing is scheduled on June 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center at 6101 Frisco Square Boulevard in Frisco.

Also on April 27 the TCEQ adopted the following revisions to the:

The Houston-Galveston-Brazoria (HGB) Redesignation Substitute State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision (Non-Rule Project No. 2015-001-SIP-NR). The SIP revision formally documents the anti-backsliding obligations for the revoked 1997 eight-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) and ensures that the substance of the redesignation requirements is met for the HGB area. This redesignation substitute takes the place of a redesignation request and maintenance plan, which the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) normally requires under a standard that has not been revoked.

The Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Redesignation Substitute State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision (Non-Rule Project No. 2015-002-SIP-NR). The SIP revision formally documents the anti-backsliding obligations for the revoked one-hour and revoked 1997 eight-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards and ensures that the substance of the redesignation requirements is met for the DFW area. This redesignation substitute takes the place of a redesignation request and maintenance plan, which the EPA normally requires under a standard that has not been revoked.
