On December 9, the TCEQ Water Rights Advisory Work Group met to hear updates on water rights applications, updates on the watermasters, and introductions of new staff. The next work group meeting is scheduled for March 10, 2015. Notes for the December 9 are as follows:
Brazos River Authority System Operations Permit
- Technical review completed
- New draft permit and technical memos were mailed Aug. 18, 2014 to the applicant
- Application returned to SOAH
- Evidentiary hearing expected to resume on Feb. 16, 2015
Lower Bois’Arc Creek Reservoir
- Major reservoir application in Fannin County
- From NTMWD
- Application was referred to SOAH
- Evidentiary hearing scheduled for April 20, 2015
New team in the section – water rights compliance assurance team new staff

Watermaster Section Update
- Rio Grande
- New Rio Grande Watermaster effective Dec. 1 – Jose Luna
- Assistance Rio Grande Watermaster – Jose Davila
- Brazos
- Targeting full implementation of Brazos Watermaster Program for June 1, 2015
- Finalizing process for hiring water master and admin assistant for the program
- Watermaster budgets have been approved for all 3 areas on September 10
