During their August 24 meeting, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) heard the Executive Director’s findings and recommendation which determined that the TCEQ should not move forward on its own motion with the creation of a watermaster program in the Sulphur River Basin or the Cypress Creek Basin. In river basins where no watermaster has been appointed, the executive director shall evaluate the river basin at least once every 5 years to determine whether a watermaster should be appointed, and report the findings and make recommendations to the commission.
