On January 6, Texas Department of Insurance held a second stakeholder meeting to receive public comments on proposed rules regarding navigators for the federal health insurance exchange.  In attendance were multiple state legislators and other stakeholders concerned with the necessity of the rules.

Some stakeholders noted the rules are being used as a political tool and are preventing navigators from being able to do their jobs by enacting unnecessary regulations.  Other stakeholders commented that the rules need to be put in place quickly to avoid the harm that untrained and unqualified navigators could cause.
