The Texas Commission on Next Generation Assessments and Accountability, established by the 84th Legislature will hold its first meeting on January 20 from 10a until 5p. The purpose of the commission is to develop and make recommendations for new systems of student assessment and public school accountability. The commission will submit a report to the governor and legislature that recommends statutory changes to improve the state’s systems of student assessment and public school accountability by September 1, 2016.
