The Texas Medical Board has proposed amendments in the following areas of Licensure, Physician Registration, Temporary and Limited Licenses, Surgical Assistants, Procedural Rules, and Disciplinary Guidelines with the earliest adoption date being June 22 :
 
Licensure – 22 TAC §163.4, §163.5
Amendments affect procedural rules for licensure applicants and licensure documentation.
 
Physician Registration – 22 TAC §166.6
Amendments affect the exemption from registration fees for retired physicians providing voluntary charity care.
 
Temporary and Limited Licenses – 22 TAC §172.5, §172.8
Amendments affect temporary permits for visiting physicians and temporary licenses for faculty.
 
Surgical Assistants – 22 TAC §184.4, §184.16
Amendments affect qualifications for licensure and discipline of surgical assistants.
 
Procedural Rules – 22 TAC §187.13, 187.24, 187.26, 187.28, 187.29
Amendments affect informal board proceedings and formal board proceedings at SOAH.
 
Disciplinary Guidelines – 22 TAC §190.8, 190.14
Amendments affect violation guidelines and disciplinary guidelines.
 
The earliest possible date of adoption for all rules above is June 22, 2014.
