Transfer of Water and Wastewater Utility Regulation to the Public Utility Commission will Occur in September

On Sept. 1, 2014, the water utility rate and CCN programs will transfer from the TCEQ to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC). The TCEQ will continue under its statutory authority to perform duties related to these two programs until Aug. 31, 2014. The TCEQ continues to have responsibility over public drinking water systems, including temporary management and receiver-ships for those systems.
