The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is hosting a series of Board work sessions across the state that are open to the public. In addition to other agenda items, all meetings will provide an overview of the process for implementing the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas (SWIFT). SWIFT is the $2 billion fund approved by voters last fall to finance state water plan projects.

All meetings will offer ample opportunity for public input, and TWDB is especially interested in hearing ideas on developing rules for how the SWIFT will be used.

The first of these sessions is February 11, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at San Jacinto River Authority, 1577 Dam Site Road, Conroe.

If you are unable to attend the meeting in Conroe, two other work sessions will be held.

  • Lubbock, Feb. 24 (time TBD): Texas Tech University School of Law, Board of Barristers, 1802 Hartford Ave.
  • Harlingen, March 24 (time TBD): Texas State Technical College, 1902 N. Loop 499

Additionally, written comments related to SWIFT can be submitted via the TWDB website.
