The TWIA expert panel will hold a public meeting on January 28 to inform the public about the progress of the panel’s work thus far, to allow the public to observe the panel discussing its work, and to give the public an opportunity to comment and ask questions on the various components of the method or model. Link to Live Webcast will be live shortly before the meeting begins.

During this meeting, the panel plans to demonstrate their draft method or model for determining the extent to which a loss to TWIA-insured property may be or was incurred as a result of wind, waves, tidal surges, or rising waters not caused by waves or surges.  Attendees are encouraged to ask the panel members questions about how the method or model would function.

As required by House Bill 3, enacted by the 82nd Legislature, after the panel completes its work, the commissioner will consider the panel’s recommendations and publish guidelines that TWIA must use to settle claims.
