HillCo Partners is proud to announce that Eddie Solis will soon join the firm, bringing more than 20 years of public sector and political experience to HillCo’s Municipal and Pension Practice.  Solis has been the Director of Government Relations for the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) since January 2007.  As such, he coordinated and facilitated the passage of transformational legislation for the system, extending its outreach to local governments and stakeholders.  He also was the principal liaison to the TMRS Advisory Committee, which represents the retirement system’s many diverse constituencies.

 

Prior to his tenure with TMRS, Solis spent 16 years at the Texas Comptroller’s office, where he held a variety of positions in the Bullock, Sharp and Strayhorn administrations.  During the 77th legislative session, he served as Lieutenant Governor Bill Ratliff’s Special Assistant for Border Affairs and General Government.

 

Solis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&I University, now known as Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  He received a Masters degree in Public Administration from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, now called Texas State University.

 

Eddie Solis will join other recent additions to HillCo Partners’ lobby team, including Haley Cornyn.

 

Haley Cornyn specializes in state healthcare issues.  Cornyn comes to HillCo from The Patriot Group, a Texas- and Washington, D.C.-based public affairs firm, where she served as a manager and fundraiser for several general government clients.  She is a Texas native who graduated from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature.
