The LCRA Transmission Services Corporation (LCRA TSC) filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) an application to build a new 345-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in Gillespie, Llano, San Saba, Burnet, and Lampasas counties.  The application is a request to amend its Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN). PUC must approve or amend the CCN application within a certain time frame before LCRA construction can begin. The transmission lines will be part of the Competitive Renewable Energy Zones (CREZ) which is targeted at delivering power produced from wind generators and hopefully increasing Texas’ current transmission capacity for wind power.

The maps of the suggested routes are available on LCRA’s Web site at: www.lcra.org/energy/trans/crez/.

Maps and additional information about CREZ and other transmission routes can also be accessed on the PUC’s document Web site at: www.interchange.puc.state.tx.us. Click on the login button, then type 37448, the project’s docket number, in the control number field.
