The Texas Pension Review Board (PRB) published its Strategic Plan 2011-2015. The PRB also notes in the strategic plan the agency has began the process of reviewing the current “Guidelines for Actuarial Soundness.”
The agency has been reviewing existing statutes, rules, regulations and case laws in Texas and other states across the nation that discusses or refers to this concept in any form. Over the next few months, the agency plans to conduct committee and board meetings to review the concept and provide a public forum for the Texas public retirement systems to participate and provide their input on the potential changes that will be considered by the PRB.
