Total sales tax collections for March jumped 9.9 percent from the same month in 2010. The increase marked the 12th straight month of year-over-year gains dating back to April 2010. Texas Comptroller Susan Combs also sent $279.4 million in sales tax allocations to Texas cities, an increase of 5.2 percent compared with April 2010. Texas counties will also receive sales tax payments of $26.6 million, up 11.1 percent compared with one year ago.
