SB 23 and Others Casualty of Midnight House Deadline

The House also ran out of time on the calendar leaving several bills a casualty of the midnight deadline. Those bills include:

• SB 8 – Nelson -Relating to improving the quality and efficiency of health care. (this bill was being debated as the midnight deadline arrived).
• SB 23 – Nelson / et al. -Relating to the administration of and efficiency, cost-saving, fraud prevention, and funding measures for certain health and human services and health benefits programs, including the medical assistance and child health plan programs.
• SB 635 – Nichols / Gallegos / Patrick – Relating to the authority of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
• HB 725 – Callegari – Relating to the operation, powers, and duties of certain water districts.
• HB 6 – Eissler / Allen / Strama / Branch / et al.- Relating to the foundation curriculum, the establishment of the instructional materials allotment, and the adoption, review, and purchase of instructional materials and technological equipment for public schools.

It remains unclear if there are parliamentary options available to the House on Monday to finish remaining business.
